What inspired you to write your first book?

Writing was something I always wanted to do, but I never had the courage to do it. I finally just said eff, and hot publish. I knew I wasn’t going to go anywhere if I didn’t let people read my stories.

How did you come up with your titles?

I tend to name the books before I write them. I know how the story is going to go and I take it from there.

Is there a message in your novels that you want readers to grasp?

Love yourself. No matter what, you are awesome.

How much of your books are realistic?

I feel my books are very realistic. I want the reader to be able to read my books and feel like they are coming to life around them.

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

Every book has experiences and parts that have happened to me but, then I when I go to write them, I twist them in a way to fit the story.

What books have most influenced your life most?

I feel every book I read influences me. I see how other authors are writing and it inspires me to better myself and try new things.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Hmm, I guess I really don’t have a mentor. I’m friends with so many amazing authors and we all tend to support and help each other any way we can.

What book are you reading now?

I am unfortunately not reading right now. I don’t read while I’m writing, and I always seem to be writing something.

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Alana Sapphire is amazing. I’ll read anything she writes.

What are your current projects?

Right now I am working on book 6 in The Devil’s Knights Series, Keeping Meg, and also starting a new series. Downshift if the first book in my new series, The Skid Row Kings, which will be out this Spring.

Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.

My PA, Lizette, is amazing. She is my number one cheerleader and pushes me to be a better write.

Do you see writing as a career?

Right now it’s my part time job that I do full time when I’m not working my actual full time job. LOL One day I would love to be able to quit my day job and focus solely on writing. Right now, I’m an author and Fork Lift Driver. LOL

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

There are always things I would change. But eh, I do love it the way it is.

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

I just was always thinking of stories in my head. I would fall asleep as a child dreaming up stories. I still fall asleep that way.

Can you share a little of your current work with us? Sure! I’ll give you a little taste of my new series.

“What can I help you with?”
My head shot up, Baldy staring at me. “Um, I brought Frankie home.”
He looked me up and down, his eyes scanning me over. “Aren’t you a little too old to be hanging out with a fourteen year old? You’re what, sixteen, seventeen?”
“Try twenty-seven.” This guy was a piece of work. He was looking me over like I was on display and he thought I was a teenager.
His eyes snapped to mine and his jaw dropped. Yeah, jackass, I’m older than you are probably. “What the hell are you doing with Frankie?”
“She works at the library. You know, the place you promised to pick me up from today?” Frankie said, walking back into the shop. She had managed to find a towel and was drying herself off. I would kill for a towel right now.
“Fuck,” Baldy twisted around and looked at the clock behind him. “Sorry, Frankie. Mitch and I were tearing apart the tranny on the Charger.”
She waved her hand at him and tossed the towel to me. Oh, thank you sweet baby Jesus. I wiped the water that was dripping down my face off and squeezed all the water out of my hair into it.
“How the hell did you get so wet if she gave you a ride home?”
“Because I started walking home, Luke, until Violet was nice enough to stop and give me a ride.”
He watched me dry my hair, confusion on his face. “Violet?” he muttered.
“That’s me.”

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Getting the story out of my head. I think everyone struggles with that, though.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work? I love Kristen Ashley. Her stories are amazing.

Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?

I plan on going to two signings this year, so that will be the extent of my travel.

Who designed the covers?

I’ve designed all the covers for the Devil’s Knights. My new series I have coming out, MB Book Covers and Designs will be creating those covers. I’m super excited to see what she comes up with.

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

Everything. LOL There is so much that goes into a writing a book. Things you would never think about until you sit down and start writing. Keeping all the facts straight from one book to the next is a challenge.

Did you learn anything from writing your books and what was it?

I learned that there is always room for improvement. With each book, I hope to grow and better my writing.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Write. Write every day. No matter what, just do it.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my books and fall in love with my characters. Every message and email I get about my books mean the world to me.
