Ms. Valentine is a new author to me and I was blown away. She writes a drama and angst filled story. Jami and Ally have so much baggage between them it’s unreal. They were neighbors growing up. She had an alcoholic father who used to beat her and her mother and Jami used to burglarize homes/businesses and do and sell drugs. She hasn’t been able to stop thinking about him since he was dragged away in handcuffs from her life. When they meet up again it’s at a MMA match where Jami is fighting, he put his temper to good use. When things get sticky for Ally with her job, she brings home clients and that’s a big no-no, she starts receiving calls and unexplainable things start to happen. Jami doesn’t need/want the distraction of a serious girlfriend but he just can’t help it with Ally. Will Jami have to become Ally’s protector once again?

I didn’t want this book to end. I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!
