This author is new to me and I like how Ms. Ashbless takes the stories from the Bible we all know but they take on a whole new meaning when the characters dig deeper. I just wish I would’ve read the first book in the series and seen how Milja freed Azazel, but I caught up pretty quickly.

Azazel practically drags Milja across the world in search of his fellow imprisoned angels. He knows just how to play Milja to get her to agree to anything he wants, sex. She is putty in his hands as soon as he touches her. While they traipse all over the world they are being pursued by the Archangel Michael.

Milja’s boss, Roshana Veisi, has her own need to meet Azazel and it’s a not anything you would expect. While they are in Ethiopia Azazel can’t be on sacred ground so that just leaves Milja and Roshana to explore the mazes of churches. Then a fight ensues and Azazel comes out and burns the place to the ground to save his “sister” leaving Milja and Roshana for dead. An Archangel steps in to save Milja but she thinks Roshana is already dead. When Milja wakes up in prison she attempts calls Azazel telepathically but he doesn’t answer. So she sneaks and calls is Egan, he is a solider for the Vatican and has betrayed her in the past. She calls him in hopes that he still loves her enough to come and rescue her. Will she make it out of the prison? Will they be able to protect Azazel and his “sister” from the Archangels determined to imprison them again?
