Jennifer’s review of From the Shadows by LJ Stock

Title: From The Shadows

Author: LJ Stock

Genre: paranormal romance, fantasy

I love this book, these characters and this world! I don’t think I even have the right words to express my feelings. I was so excited to have an advanced copy of this book. It definitely didn’t let me down! The first couple of chapters were catching up on Cass’s new life as a princess and a refresher for what happened in book one. By chapter three I was thrown in the action and drama of an ambush and Cass’s capture and captivity by bad guys. This story flowed beautifully and was extremely well written. I could picture the characters and scenes as if I was there. I could feel the emotions of the characters in every word written. LJ Stock is an amazing author with an absolute gift for painting a scene and drawing my feelings to the surface. I adore Cass and Damon, and Mortisali so so much! I do hope there is a book three so I can walk in Mortisali again!

Jennifer’s review of Parallel by L.J. Stock

Title: Parallel book 1 of the Mortisalian Saga

Author: L.J. Stock

Genre : paranormal romance, Β fantasy

Stars: 5πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›

Parallel is the first book I have read by this author as well as the first book in the Mortisalian Saga. Cass was put into a mental facility by her parents at the age of 17. The book begins 7 years later with her still in the same hospital. She hears and see things, mostly war, through water. Β A nurse is dragging her through the hospital to the shower. What follows is a fantastical story filled with tales of the gods, mythical beings, other realms, battles and so much more. The story is extremely well written and flows beautifully. I loved the characters so much. I love how important each and every character is. None of them were tossed aside and forgotten. The importance may be that someone is a friend or a helper, and they may only be in bits of the book but the author made them unforgettable. There is a love story here but the main focus is the actual story itself. I think Saga is definitely a wonderful word to use for this series. Parallel is an amazing read that pulled at my heart, had me laughing, and at times cursing the stubborn characters. This is a beautiful read full of hope. I am so excited to read book two!

Ashley’s Review o The Grizzly’s Tale by Nara Malone

Ashley’s 4-πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ› Review
Book: The Grizzly’s Tale
Author: Nara Malone
Series: A Pantherian Story #3
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Fantasy
Release Date: January 13, 2017
Stars: 4

I’m new to reading Ms. Malone’s work but it was an over all pleasant story. It was slow going for me for the first one or two chapters but then it took off. Katy plays in a virtual reality world, Quarterz, against Oso, Kodie and Grizz. She is the prey to their hunters. When they decide to meet in real life Katy made an offer she cannot refuse- actually be in the hunter instead of the prey. There is one slight catch, the 3 men are also bears. Will Katy be able to play and not fall in love?

I recommend this book for anyone who loves sci-fi/paranormal romance.

Title: Dark Feather
Author: Alta Hensley
Genre: romance, erotic romance, fantasy
Stars: 4πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›

I received an ARC for a free and honest review. Dark Feather is my first book by Ms Hensley. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. The story takes place in a very different Earth than we are used to. The Earth is a frozen tundra where a blue green algae is the most important resource, whether for nutrition or science. The world is at war with two groups of humans fighting. The Penna, who believe science is everything, and the Cyan who are fighting for food and to keep their humanity. Tudor, a Penna warrior, walks away from the Penna battle. Rigby and his Cyan warriors capture her and have to decide her fate. Can they use her to fight their enemy and win? Do they execute her? Can the trust her? I love Tudor’s character. She started as a hardened Penna warrior. It was wonderful to watch her slowly transform from all warrior into a female who also happens to be a warrior.Β  With the help of Rigby she gains softness, confidence, and learns she can love as fierce as she fights. The tension between Rigby and Tudor was there from the beginning and was sweet and sexy. The descriptions in this book were wonderful and definitely made me thankful I have never lived through the horrors of an ice age. I enjoyed the secondary characters as well. Rigby’s cousin, especially, brought a bit of lightness to the dark themes of war and death. The conclusion to this story was perfect. The epilogue, for me, was especially moving. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a good read.

Ashley’s Review of Broken by Josephine Templeton

Author: Josephine Templeton
Series: The Fallen Angelle Series
Genre: Paranormal and Urban Fantasy
Release date: August 1, 2016

This is a continuation of Scorned and picks up right where the first book left off. I am loving this series!!!!
Angelle still a fallen angel trying to get back into Heaven, and forces beyond her control are trying to keep her out. She has been presented with another riddle/curse that she has to solve before time runs out. This riddle involves a fallen angel and her demon lover, a coincidence maybe. The similarities between Angelle and Jack are uncanny. Just to throw a wrench in the story Mel, her demon lover from the past, makes in appearance. Will Angelle fall in old patterns from the past and end up in Mel’s bed again?

Morgan’s Musings – New Release/Review – Claimed By The Warrior

**** 4 Out Of 5 Stars

“Basically you think I’m a beautiful, delicate creature with no common sense and I can’t think my way out of a paper bag.” “Well this silly human female helped design a good portion of your new refuge’s lodging defense—-with my irrational human mind!”

Claimed by the Warrior

This is a sci-fi fantasy romance that can be read in one setting. It is a short story, but has a lot packed in a small space. Aliens with elongated tongues, double mates, blue planets, humans – everything for another great read by Savannah Stuart.

Lumineta is a planet where many humans relocated with the earth’s demise. A planet short on women. It is more the norm to have two males for one female. Leilana, a transplant to Lumineta from earth, is sent to the mountain region to deliver completed plans of a project she has been working on and finds herself held against her will. In this region, an unmated female can be forced to live there one moon cycle. She is livid that she must stay, but finds that maybe this courting is not too bad especially when it involves a sexy alpha leader.

Con, the leader of his clan, has never thought much about taking a mate – especially a human. They are nothing but trouble. But he is about to buck the system by wanting Leilana for himself. He is not willing to share. And once Leilana gets to know this strong alpha male, he has her rethinking everything she knew about Lumineta males.

I loved the story. It is a fast paced fun, sexy read.
