Dares, Lies and Geminis was a good read. I enjoyed the story, writing style and mostly enjoyed the characters. The way the story was told, with different POV chapters worked really well with this type of story. I felt it was easier for me to follow and keep up with what was going on. This was a book that took me on so many twists and turns I lost myself. I was emotional, shocked and questioning everything. I recommend this for someone who is in the mood for something different and a bit darker.

Jennifer’s review of Still Life by Isobel Hart

received_1645942628771341Title: Still Life

Author: Isobel Hart

Genre: romance, sci-fi

Stars: 3.5 πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›

I’m going to give this book 3.5 stars because I loved the idea behind this book and truly enjoyed about the first half of this book. First I will say that this is a romance and not science fiction. There are bits that touch on sci-fi in this book. I enjoyed the beginning of the story very much. It was a fast paced start with seemingly interesting characters. I loved that the story just started with some crazy things happening. As the story went on I had a hard time staying really interested in what was happening. I was hoping for sci-fi medical or aliens. I really didn’t want a sort of romance at the time. I also had an absolute dislike of Samantha. She is way too judgemental towards the other women. It made me sad that not only was she a completely different person from the beginning of the story but I couldn’t find even one thing to like about her. If you enjoy romance with a touch of science fiction this might be a good book for you.

My review of Tulsa is definitely spoiler free (as you should just read this for yourself to see how amazing this book is). This is an absolutely wonderful and beautiful story. Tulsa was a well written and for me a touching story. Tulsa and Nikki are amazing characters and a fantastic couple. Their story was real and moving. I jumped into the story late the other night and didn’t stop until I finished the book. My only complaint is that the story ended. SL Scott is one of my favorite authors to read. This story is one example of why. I’m so excited for book 3!!!!!

I now love Rachelle! This is definitely one of my favorite books in this series (though it is hard to choose). This story was beautiful. It was well written and had me turning the pages quickly until the end. I love how this author can make me feel so much when reading her stories. This was a suspenseful and touching story. I seem to always need tissues when reading Elkridge. I absolutely love this book!

I really enjoyed reading Inconclusive Evidence. This is my first book by this author. It won’t be my last. I didn’t realize when I started reading that it was the third in a series. Thank Goodness it can be a standalone! I loved the characters. The story was well written and had me on the edge of my seat. I loved the suspense/mystery of the story. I can’t wait to go back and read the other books! Reily Garrett definitely has a new fan!

I have been trying to come up with the words to do this book justice. I just can’t seem to come up with the right words. This book was so heartbreakingly beautiful. I felt the story deep down in my soul. Alina could have been anyone, including me. I felt her pain, unworthiness, and shame. I cried so hard at what she went through. This has to be one of the best I have read all year. It was such a beautiful, painful story and so well written it felt real. This was my first Gillian Jones book but definitely won’t be my last! She has such an amazing gift to tell such an amazing story. I hope everyone who reads this will love it as much as I did! Warning: Bring tissues

Door in the Garden of Shadows is book three in the Destruction of Magic series. It can easily be read as a standalone. This is the first book in this series I have read. I loved it. It is fantasy but had an epic fantasy feel. I thought the story was well written and the characters were so well formed I fell in love with them from the start. Mostly, this book had me turning the pages to see what happen next. Some spots were a little slow for me but overall this book was a fantastic and extremely creative adventure!
