Jennifer’s review of Abandoned by Lyz Kelley

Title: AbandonedΒ

Author: Lyz Kelley
Genre: Contemporary romance, romantic suspense
Stars: 5 πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›
In this book we have two people with a ton of emotional baggage trying to find their way to a forever love and still no killer. I don’t think I have the words to say how much I loved this book! The emotions I felt in this book were ripping my heart out. I cried throughout the whole story. I love how I could actually feel what the characters were feeling instead of just reading it. This is my favorite book in the series so far. This author has continued through each book to paint a town and characters that I can picture living in and being friends with. I’m in love with this series and this author! There are a few more hints dropped as well for who the killer is. I’m so excited for the next book. June can’t come fast enough!

Jennifer’s review of Hunter by AE Fisher

Title: HunterΒ

Author: AE Fisher
Genre: romance, contemporary romance, MC Romance
Stars: 4πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›
When I opened this book, I thought it would turn out to be like other mc books. I was really excited to find that wasn’t the case. Mallory has been on the run for four years with her son Adair. Hunter, Adair’s uncle, catches up to her and brings her and her son home with him. I love Mallory’s sass and sense of humor. She constantly has a snappy comeback for anything being said. She is fiercely protective of her son and her heart. Hunter is a tough man to crack. He has strong walls built around his heart. He is a man who gets what he wants but also has a bit of a softer side (though that side isn’t seen much). I enjoyed the story and the characters. I loved the danger and twists thrown in. It made the story that much more interesting. I also really like the different places you can see where it can lead into a second book. The one thing I didn’t expect in this book is the emotions it had me feeling. I teared up a few times while Mallory was telling her story. It was also emotional when she had a breakdown right after coming home with Hunter. It made the story and the characters more real for me. It’s what helped me to be invested in the book. I hope there will be a second book. I’m also looking forward to what this author will come up with next.

Jennifer’s review of Blinded by Lyz Kelley

Title: BlindedΒ

Author: Lyz Kelley
Genre: Contemporary romance, suspense, mystery
Stars: 4πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›
Lyz Kelley is a new author for me. I’m very glad I had the opportunity to read this book. I really enjoyed reading Blinded. I love Joey and Mara as well as all the supporting characters. Blinded is a mystery/ romance. The story was well written, and though a little slow in some places, Β very enjoyable and engaging. I had a large range of emotions while reading this book. It was a good and sweet read but left me with a few unanswered questions. I’m excited to read more of the series to get those questions answered and visit with my favorite characters from this book once again!

Ashley’s 4.5-πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ› Review
Book: Code Name: Forever and Ever
Author: Natasza Waters
Series: A Warrior’s Challenge #5
Genre: Military Romance, Suspense
Release date: November 11, 2016
Stars: 4.5

This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Waters and I didn’t know what to expect. Needless to say I was blown away!!! I love Marg and Patrick’s story.

Marg lived a privileged life where everything was dictated to her and her parents were playing matchmaker. They wanted her paired with one of her father’s executives where she would be living the life she grew up with. Marg had her own plans for her life and she struck out on her own to be a model in a Navy town.

Patrick was completing his Navy Seal training and had one goal- get out of the town he grew up in. When he meets Marg he is blown away, but he has nothing to offer Marg. Being poor and from the wrong side of the tracks he thinks he will only pull her down.

Being from an anti-military family, Marg will put everything on the line for Patrick. Will soulmates find their happily ever after or will forces pull them apart? I highly recommend this book!!!

Ashley’s πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›- Review
Book: Elias (GRIT Sector 1)
Author: Rebecca Sherwin
Genre: Romantic Suspense/ Dark Romance
Series: Yes
Release date: June 14, 2016
Stars: 4

This was the first book I’ve read by this author, and it was hard to get into. Don’t get me wrong, her writing had technical merit and her characters were well developed but I had trouble following the story for half of the book.
Elias Blackwood is the head of a bank by day but is the king of GRIT by night. At first he is so regimented in his daily routines that he never questions his role in the family. Then blows in Trixie Ashford to shake things up.
Trixie lives with her grandmother and works at an art gallery. One fateful night she is abducted by a man who is sent to watch over her. It turns out that he is her cousin by adoption, Trixie’s parents were killed by a man who is part of the underground.
Elias and Trixie are in essence set up to meet and rule together as the king and queen of GRIT. Trixie is inducted by fire into the way that GRIT works and in turn she breaks down the shields Elias has set up to protect himself. But for the final test to be a part of GRIT, Trixie is tasked with killing the man who killed her parents. Will she be able to kill the man?
