Jennifer’s review of How We Fall by Melissa Toppen

Author: Melissa Toppen

Title: How We Fall

Genre: Contemporary romance, second-chance romance, friends to lovers

Stars: 5🛍🛍🛍🛍🛍

For me, this is one of the best stories of 2017 so far!  This is a beautifully written friends to lovers second chance story. The main characters are best friends growing up. Cole leaves for college and they don’t see each other for the next six years until tragedy brings them back together. Between the story and the characters, I was lost myself in the pages of this book. I read straight through and didn’t come up for air until I was finished. I absolutely love Melissa Toppen! This book is now my favorite of hers ( I love it even more than Taming Lo)! I think this is a definite must read for everyone who loves love!

Ashley’s Review of Falling Sweetly by Aidan Willows

Ashley’s 4.5-🛍🛍🛍🛍🛍 Review

Book: Falling Sweetly

Author: Aidan Willows

Genre: Romantic Comedy/ Contemporary Romance

Release Date: September 19, 2016

Series: Starling Falls #2

Stars: 4.5

I am an absolute fan of Ms. Willows. I love how her characters are so relatable. I could picture myself as Annika with all of her insecurities and understated strength.

Annika (Nikki) Abbot is a shy pastry chef who inherited a bakery after her great aunt dies. She doesn’t have the self confidence to go after any man and she has major self doubts. Nikki has an awkwardness about her that is so endearing to me.

Jacob (Jake) Jameson is the head chef at a fine dining restaurant. He wants Nikki, but she’s been avoiding him like the plague since the New Years party. When Jake get a devastating review from the fine dining reviewer his world slowly starts to fall apart.

Jake with the help of Nikki start on a joint adventure to help Jake open up a family-style restaurant. But then disaster strikes. From sabotage to vandalism, will Jake ever be able to open the restaurant?

If you are looking for a heartwarming story this is the one. I highly recommend this book!!!

Ashley’s Review of Beneath the Skin by Daryl Banner

Ashley’s 4.5-🛍🛍🛍🛍🛍 Review

Book: Beneath the Skin

Author: Daryl Banner

Release Date: September 11, 2016

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Series: A College Obsession Romance

Stars: 4.5

True to form, Mr. Banner writes a funny, light-hearted romance with a few unexpected twists. If you didn’t read Read My Lips, the first book in this wonderful series, you won’t be lost because this book is a standalone but I recommend reading it because it introduces the main character of this story.

Brant is self proclaimed lover of women. He’s a love them and leave them type. He basically flits from one college coed to the next never becoming attached and never developing feelings for any of them.

Then comes Nell. Their first encounter is when Nell finds Brant in a compromising situation in the back of her art class. Brant is captivated by her from that first meeting, but Nell uses her sarcastic standoffish attitude to not let him get too close.

Surprisingly Nell ends up pushing Brant away. Their is such a sadness in Nell that breaks my heart. Will Nell help Brant reform his man-whoring ways of will Nell just be another notch on his belt? I really enjoyed Nell and Brant’s journey through the choppy waters of college life.

Ashley’s Review of More Than Miles by Autumn Jones Lake

Ashley’s 5-🛍🛍🛍🛍🛍  Review
Book: More Than Miles
Author: Autumn Jones Lake
Genre: Contemporary Romance/ MC Romance
Series: Lost Kings MC #6
Release date: August 16, 2016
Stars: 5

Absolutely love this series!!!!  Autumn is an absolute genius!  Murphy, Axel and Heidi were in a love triangle that was bound to explode in fireworks.
It all starts on Heidi’s 18th birthday… Murphy comes to pick her up for her birthday ride on his motorcycle and things heat up from there. But then Murphy calls her Bug, a childhood nickname, and it’s like throwing a cold bucket of water on her libido. She only thinks he calls her Bug to keep his distance from her because she thinks he still sees her as a kid.
Axel, Heidi’s boyfriend, is a prospect for the Lost Kings MC. He’s just not really into it like Heidi would like him to be. Axel and Heidi really love each other considering their young age. She opens up to him about her childhood horrors, hopes and dreams.
And then there is Murphy, Road Captain of the Lost Kings MC. He grew up around the Lost Kings MC with Heidi and Teller. Murphy sees Heidi as a kid sister until one day it all changed and then he has to keep his distance from her because he’s 8-years older than her and she is Teller’s sister. Murphy was a man-whore and slept with any woman, but then he proclaims his love for Heidi on her 18th birthday and says he’s reformed his man-whoring ways.
There are so many twists and turns in this book. Heartache, passion and tears comprise for a very moving book. Who will she choose?  Will Murphy’s declaration mean anything to Heidi, will they live happily ever after or go up in flames?

Ashley’s Review of Read My Lips by Daryl Banner

Ashley’s 4.5-🛍🛍🛍🛍🛍 Review
Book: Read My Lips
Author: Daryl Banner
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: A College Obsession Romance #1
Release Date: June 5, 2016
Stars: 4.5
I’m familiar with the author writing M/M and dystopian fantasy, but this genre from the author is new to me. I have to say that I love it!!!
Dessie is a “starlit” from New York City that just wants to make it on her own without the influence from her famous parents. She is a theater major that transfers to a small Texas town to go to college. And everything changes at the theater mixer when she “meets” a tall, dark and handsome stranger.
Enter Clayton… He just wants to graduate and not get caught up in the drama of dating especially actresses. Then he “heard” Dessie sing on the stage of an abandon theater and in a club. He was lost from there, but the only thing is Clayton is unlike most college students. Will they be able to overcome their own obstacles? Or will their differences tear them apart.

Series: The Music Within
Genre: M/M Romance
Release date: April 30, 2016
Stars: 5

Faith is an amazing author!!!  This is not the first book I’ve read by this author and certainly will not be the last. I absolutely love her writing, she takes you through the full range of emotions with her writing.
Kincade “Cade” Anderson’s life was falling apart all around him… The band he was in, 7’s Mistress, broke apart and the “love” of Cade’s life married another man. For three months he was constantly drunk trying to forget about Tag and Eric.  Then a sexy as sin cowboy took home to sleep off his drunk. Cade didn’t know if Malcolm “Mal” Wilson was into men but he didn’t care because if not he just wanted Mal as a friend. Come to find out living in a small town Arlo, Kentucky, in the middle of the Bible Belt, where everybody in town was homophobic Mal was still in the closet. Everything is unraveling for Mal- he’s about to lose everything he’s worked so hard for. After their one night together everything changes for the sexy cowboy and the badass rockstar. Coming from two completely different worlds, Cade born with a silver spoon in his mouth and Mal being born dirt poor, will they ever overcome their obstacles standing in the way of love?
Great continuation of Deliver Me. Can’t wait for this series to continue. I would highly recommend this book!!!

Ashley’s Review of Sweet Texas Fire by Nicole Flockton

Ashley’s 5-🛍🛍🛍🛍🛍 Review
Book: Sweet Texas Fire
Author: Nicole Flockton
Release Date: April 11, 2016
Series: Sweet Texas Secrets
Genre: Contemporary Romance

I think I LOVE Nicole!!! This is my new favorite author. I could really feel the emotions the author was portraying. I felt like I was on a roller coaster from start to finish.
I can’t get over the explosive chemistry Gage and Charlotte had from their first in person meeting. Gage wanted to meet the woman his father left “Gage’s” house and land to. Charlotte wasn’t what he expected from their phone conversations. And Gage’s attitude was exactly what Charlotte expected.
One of many lies/ misconceptions lead Charlotte moving out and Gage left wondering if he just let the woman he loves walk away from him.
I highly recommend this book!
