Jennifer’s review of How We Fall by Melissa Toppen

Author: Melissa Toppen

Title: How We Fall

Genre: Contemporary romance, second-chance romance, friends to lovers

Stars: 5πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›

For me, this is one of the best stories of 2017 so far! Β This is a beautifully written friends to lovers second chance story. The main characters are best friends growing up. Cole leaves for college and they don’t see each other for the next six years until tragedy brings them back together. Between the story and the characters, I was lost myself in the pages of this book. I read straight through and didn’t come up for air until I was finished. I absolutely love Melissa Toppen! This book is now my favorite of hers ( I love it even more than Taming Lo)! I think this is a definite must read for everyone who loves love!

Jennifer’s review of Abandoned by Lyz Kelley

Title: AbandonedΒ

Author: Lyz Kelley
Genre: Contemporary romance, romantic suspense
Stars: 5 πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›
In this book we have two people with a ton of emotional baggage trying to find their way to a forever love and still no killer. I don’t think I have the words to say how much I loved this book! The emotions I felt in this book were ripping my heart out. I cried throughout the whole story. I love how I could actually feel what the characters were feeling instead of just reading it. This is my favorite book in the series so far. This author has continued through each book to paint a town and characters that I can picture living in and being friends with. I’m in love with this series and this author! There are a few more hints dropped as well for who the killer is. I’m so excited for the next book. June can’t come fast enough!

Ashley’s Review of Damage by Riann C. Miller

Ashley’s 4.5-πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ› Review
Book: Damaged Love
Author: Riann C. Miller
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 23, 2017
Stars: 4.5

This was the first book I’ve read by Ms. Miller and I was blown away. I can’t say enough about her writing style. I loved Jet and Rachel.

Jet was driven and focused, from the age of 19 he knew what he wanted out of life. He lived in Malibu and his father had a lot of money but he never let it affect him. Most of his friends were sleeping around but he didn’t sleep with women if he didn’t trust them. Then everything changed with the meeting of a woman outside of a restaurant. A chance encounter flipped everything on its head.

Rachel has had a challenging life, a bi-polar mother and a father and brother that are evil. Her only saving grace was her other brother, Russ who kept her sane. That was until she met Jet. He gives her a little slice of happiness but she knows that will all come crashing down once her secrets are revealed.

Her secrets are exposed and her blossoming relationship falls apart. But then they meet years later and Rachel is hesitant that Jet is okay with what happened and he just wants to move on. Can Rachel get over her insecurities about not being good enough? Can Jet trust Rachel again?

I highly recommend this book! If you love second chance romances this is the book for you. I will be reading more of Ms. Miller.

Ashley’s Review of Something There in Between by S. Ferguson

Ashley’s 4.5-πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ› Review
Book: Something There In Between
Author: S. Ferguson
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: December 18, 2016
Stars: 4.5

S. Ferguson’s debut novel is heart wrenching. It’s really well written for her debut. I was hooked from the prologue- Bree is just such a beautifully sad character. Her live-in boyfriend just up and left when he said he was going out of town. My heart absolutely broke for her because she thought she was worthless and unlovable. She even goes so far as to call herself a slut because she sees sex as the only thing she is good for. Then enters Declan her savior in Converses. The thing they have in common is their lives have been hell, but whereas Declan persevered Bree can’t get past her hell. Declan is knight in slightly tarnished armor but I love how protective he is of her. Will Bree open herself up and take a chance on Declan?

This book had really relatable characters in it. Bravo Ms Ferguson. I would highly recommend this book!!!

This is my first book by Ms. Davenport and I’m hooked. I just bought Dogs of Fire series (the original). She just develops her characters in such a relatable way. Lily and Maverick pull at my heart.

Mr. Essen continue this series with a bang. I love how unfiltered Rachel is and from the first moment she meets Zander she is that way. And Zander thinks it’s refreshing that he doesn’t have to wonder where Rachel stands.

Rachel the typical California socialite her days are filled with shopping, working out and visiting with her friends. Ashley’s Review of Living Without by Lila Rose

Ashley’s 4.5-πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ›πŸ› Review
Book: Living Without
Author: Lila Rose
Series: Hawks MC Caroline Springs Charter #4
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance, MC Romance
Release Date: November 7, 2016
Stars: 4.5

This is a new author to me and I will definitely be getting the 3 books that precede this one. Nary May and Saxon captured my attention from the first chapter. Nary has been in love with Saxon for years and he doesn’t give her the time of day. So she convinces herself that she is over Saxon and begins a new relationship with a biker in a different MC. She gets abducted from college walking to her car by a lunatic hell bent on getting back at her family’s MC, the Hawks. And then her Hell begins.

Saxon aka Vicious, has been avoiding Nary because he doesn’t feel worthy of her, but when she gets taken all bets are off. Saxon totally flips out when he finds out who has her and the known atrocities he commits against women.

Nary meets Kelsey once she’s captured. Kelsey has been the play thing for months by their captors. Nary doesn’t want to be sold or become a play thing and she feels like she is betraying Jeremiah when all she’s thinking about is how she wants Saxon to rescue her. Gypsy, a biker from a MC in America, working with the Hawks infiltrate the kidnappers organization posing as a buyer for Nary. Gypsy with the backup of the Hawks take down their captors and rescue the women.

Kelsey is instantly drawn to Gypsy because he is the one that prevents her from being raped. Nary keeps having nightmares from her ordeal and Saxon wants to banish her nightmares. Will Nary be able to forget the past and believe that Saxon truly has feelings for her? Will Saxon be able to overcome his demons to let Nary in?

Lila Rose is my new favorite MC author. I highly recommend this book.
