DRAGON FALL (Black Dragons #1) by Katie MacAlister
When you flirt with fire – you are going to get burned.
Aofie Dakar can’t believe what she just witnessed. Dragons, dead people coming back to life – what else would put you in the looney bin? After spending two years in the asylum, Aofie is ready to start living in the real world again, but unfortunately she picks up a talking demon dog and a dragon that can curl your toes with a kiss and heat your body all over. But because she holds the ring that can break the curse of the dragons, she is also being hunted.
Kostya, a black dragon, is all things that Aofie is not supposed to believe in, according to her therapist. He is obnoxious, snarky and arrogant and in denial when it comes to admitting that Aofie is his mate. He only wants the one thing she possess that will help his people remove the curse, but yet he can’t help but lust after her.
I loved the unusual made up curse words, the witty dialogue, the snarky alpha dragon, the demon talking dog named Jim and the great characters. You’ve got to love how Aofie tries to help, but seems to always make things worse. It was a fun read and I look forward to others in the series.
